- Both devices must be restarted if you are not seeing the setup animation when you try to set them up.

Password sharing directly: How to do it
It is required to save the email address of your nearby contact in your Contacts app as well as your address in theirs to share the local Wi-Fi password directly with them.
The other person uses their iPhone’s Wi-Fi settings to select the same network as your local Wi-Fi network. On your phone, you should receive a notification asking you if you would like to share your Wi-Fi password. Share Password can be accessed by tapping the button.
